Updated snow forecast

Latest call for our projected snow totals are at 4-6 inches, but they say it could go either way. Maybe a lot more, maybe a lot less, probably not exactly what they predict anyway. The snow is supposed to start around 3:00 pm today, just in time to really put a crimp in the work and school traffic. Several West Virginia counties have already closed schools for the day, but Wood county is not one of them.

All the excitement about the incoming snow storm had the grocery stores really crowded last night, I figure they are even worse right now. I’m glad I’m home and not needing to go anywhere. Once Brian is home from work, we can relax and wait for the snow!

Winds of change

The winds are whipping on the hilltop today, maybe blowing in the cold front and the snow tomorrow afternoon. The animals seem to know that some change in weather is on the way, because the squirrels have stopped eating so much corn at the feeder and are in the yard, gathering walnuts instead. Maybe the know that snow is cruising in.

Brian noticed yesterday that deer have found our hanging squirrel/corn feeders, and both have several hoof prints under them. I hope to see them eating when I have the camera with me and can get a good photo.

The photo of the two raccoons are from this Summer. I happened to be out looking for the frogs when I noticed these two drinking from the frog pond. I’m glad I was able to get the photo, they took off right after.
